*vremea a fost superba! traseul alpin si peisaje extraordinare!
Secretul recuperarii!
De la fata locului echipa Inov8 vine cu cateva detalii, ma bucur sa citesc blogul lor si Spaniolii din frunte par invincibili!! Sunt foarte buni!
It was a similar pattern to the last few days with the Spainish pair setting the early pace. As we went higher Joe seemed to find some extra oxygen from somewhere and was very strong in the thin air whereas I was struggling to breath. We managed to stay with the leading team until the top of the first climb. Joe then took the descent easier - having fallen a couple of times was being a bit cautious. The Spainards soon disappeared off into the distance and it was not until the second main climb where we saw them a few minutes ahead. The route here went over the top of Pico Clunas at 2,793m with great views over the valley we were about to plung into. The final 10km down to the finish was fairly painful on the battered feet but great fun.
We finished in 2nd place again around 7 minutes behind Ortega and Castan. The stunning views and great running made up for the dissapointment of not being able to stay with the leading pair.
Tomorrow sees a gentle 6km uphill sprint with almost 1,000m climb."
Transalpine Race stage 4 - Galtur (AUT) - Scuol (SWI)
This stage was always going to be one of the more scenic ones running over the Futscholpass at 2,768m into Switzerland. Fortunately the weather was a lot different than yesterday with wall-to-wall sunshine. It was still a chilly start at 8am this morning from Galtur with the temperature of around 4 degrees. It was a similar pattern to the last few days with the Spainish pair setting the early pace.
